Changes…

Ok “that place” fired me. It’s been a few months…

I’m bitter. Still. Will remain bitter.

But I am resplendent in the knowledge that they had to hire an assistant for the assistant.

“That place” and the current management and board can go fuck themselves.

I cant help the hope that current show bankrupts them because they have no clue what they are doing.

Poor curation…

So I need an outlet to whine and vent about the stupid day to day cray cay at work. So take anything said with a grain of salt.

Today I am asked to send a patron the label text we used when we displayed his art work.

I have the labels saved but as the exhibit as a whole, and we didn’t include the owners names for security reasons.

I asked which pictures were the patrons…

“there are pictures in the 3 ring binder, don’t you remember what was hanging?”

Ok… Mind you we had over 50 peices from over 20 patrons…

Look through folder… Finds particular patrons section, there are more photos of prints that what was used, and nothing to indicate which ones were… A simple note about which were shown would have been helpful.

Uhg. Ends up having to cross reference from the file names on the printouts to the info on the labels…

And to top it all off my favorite price of art was moved from over my desk. But it’s ok cause it’s getting exposure in the main gallery now. But now I need to replace it.

Illinois is going to die soon

Actually I have seen zero posts on tumblr about the crisis in Illinois.
Illinois has not had a state budget in over two years. You read that correctly. Our governor, Bruce Rauner, is doing fuckall for this state. He won’t approve a budget, and the ones he comes up with suck so the state senate won’t approve them. The GOP and Democrats are locked in a battle over this.
Schools are closing. A lot of schools won’t open this fall. The second largest school district in the state won’t open. The Illinois lottery is over. There’s talks of annexing the state.
